Well Mrs G Is back! Remember the Pantry I created for her?
Well you can read all about that HERE.
Now we are moving on to her Master Bath which is currently being renovated!
Beautiful right? I agree! So what in the world can I possibly contribute??
Well Mrs G. has this sweet Antique Linen Cabinet that belonged to her grandmother.
For QUITE some time it has been sitting alone collecting dust..
But the time had come!
Mrs G. has decided she would like to incorporate it into the Master Bath as a sweet storage piece!
We toiled over colors thinking we wanted a pop of color! But,.. deciding this would be a fairly permanent piece of the space, we decided to stay on tone. In my mind I couldnt help but picture soapstone. That beautiful soft black… and I decided that is the direction I wanted to take!
Some subtle accents of white but an overall soft Soapstone black.
I would be using Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co. Milk Paint and decided to mix up some Pitch Black and Snow White to see what I would come up with. My goal was a soft yet rather cold grey-black.
It couldnt be too warm given the area it is going in.
I was happy to be able to stop right there! I decided on several variations of grey-black I was able to use… I would begin with a 4:1 ratio of Pitch Black to Snow White to layer and play on.
I liked it! On the inside I went with Pitch Black,.. Then began the playing. I went over that with a 3:1 ratio and even some straight Snow White. I moved faster than my brain so- I apologize for no progress photos! (Creatives- I know you can relate!) But I continued to do washes with grey and white, and distress!
Want to learn how to do this and so much more?? With leaders that guide you through??
Perplexed with the hardware,.. We hadnt committed to anything yet! But, I had some GORGEOUS Milk Glass Knobs from D. Lawless Hardware that I had in safe keeping for “The Right One”…

After I put them on I took a picture and showed Mrs G. PERFECTION!
This is definitely going down as another favorite of mine!
I cant WAIT to see how it looks in her beautiful bathroom with all her favorite products on the shelves..
AAahhh… the mix of old world paint and these very classy Milk Glass Knobs came together PERFECTLY!
Im quite certain Mrs G. is going to be completely in love!
As for me,.. Im just having fun getting to dive into Old Fashioned Milk Paint Companies TRUE Milk Paint and learning and playing with it in new ways… I hope you are too!!
Remember- ITS JUST PAINT!
Till next time!
…and so next time has come… ha!
Unsure of how I wanted to protect it, the photos above show no clear coat… finally I decided to protect with Polyvine in their Exterior varnish (since its going into a bathroom). Then used an all natural clear wax over the entire thing! I LOVED how it brought out the right tones of the wood giving it a more balanced look..
And you can find me partying at
