#SwapItLikeItsHot No. 6

So, have you ever heard of #SwapItLikeItsHot ??
I had but only because some of the most incredible bloggers that I follow partake in it!  So, when I had the opportunity to join in on the fun,.. uh yes!

So here goes.  I was the recipient of these FaBuLoUs items from Amanda over at "Prim & Propah"
Did you do it? Did you say it with an accent?? I cant tell if I want to say it like I picture a New England-er saying it or if I want to say it with a British accent!
Here we have a cutting board (used), a vintage Shakespearean Paper Back, a metal Bowl with Lid, and good ole country stylin ribbon,.. I would LOVE to know what Amanda envisioned as she chose this stuff! I for one am actually not a visionary.  (at least pretend to be surprised eh?) I did find out the bottle is actually an old Avon Mouth Wash Bottle! I thought that was kind of neat since I totally assumed it was an old perfume bottle or something.

Now how to pull this all together,.. The cutting board I decided would be perfect for a little signage! Ive never really tinkered with making signs or doing any sort of image transfer, so I thought this would be a great time to try it out!  With the name change, (Sweet Tea Refinishing-> That Sweet Tea Life) I decided to go with creating the new name on it and using the sweet vintage country ribbon to hang it! You can see exactly how I did it HERE!

Pretty cute right?? I had a lot of fun with it,.. now on to the rest of the ensemble..
We are left with a copper toned bowl with lid, the Avon mouthwash bottle (which is apparently rather collectible-who knew??) and the Shakespearean novel.....
I couldnt help myself and jumped at the opportunity to create some lovely staging items as I always struggle in this area! So I decided to approach a "Milk Glass" vibe..
I took the copper pot and the bottle and painted both in White Chalk Spray paint by Valspar then top coated them in Valspars Glossy Lacquer finish.  The little copper bowl was perfect for holding lots of little Tea Bags! And the bottle became a sweet little vase..

I know I loved the copper! But, the contrast that I have now is so much more usable and appealing!  So often we get SO caught up in preservation that  we don't take the opportunity to truly maximize the use of items in front of us!  These guys will be put to amazing use now! I cant wait to begin using them in my staging as well as my home decor!  They suit me perfectly now!

What a FUN experience!! Now,.. I wonder what is going on over at Evey's Creations... Did you see what amazing goodies I sent her??
Thats a WHOLE lotta goodness right there!!
I mean,. souvenir drink cups?? A rather snazzy silver platter,.. and potpourri.
Not just any potpourri yall! Its from the thriftstore and seriously,.. I just couldnt pass it up! I saw that bag and knew I had to have it..  Oh the strength it took to mail it off and not keep it!
I cant wait to see what she does with them all!!
You should go check out hers and ALL the other swappers!!
